Personal safety for all volunteers

Risks are not only present from the nature of the site or type of voluntary work you are involved in, but also from external sources. No policy or precautions can guarantee the safety of every individual in every situation. However, being aware of potential risks and taking positive action to protect yourself can only be a good thing - not only during your voluntary role, but also at home, at work and as you go about your every day life.

If you would like a copy of a leaflet on personal safety produced by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, please contact your Area Team. The leaflet includes guidelines on using public transport, dealing with aggression and avoiding physical attack.
